District Youth Commissioner Appointed

28th October 2015

Jamie Bentley has been appointed to lead adventure for over 1,000 young people across the Canterbury, Whitstable and Herne Bay District

In the new role of District Youth Commissioner, Jamie will support and develop local aspects of the County and UK wide scheme to appoint Youth Commissioners. He is tasked with making sure our Leadership Teams listen to our young people's voices and Scouting delivers what they really want. Working alongside District Commissioner, Sam Trill and District Executive Chair, Peter Reynolds, Jamie will help the movement achieve its ambition to be even more youth-shaped.

Jamie will be joined in his new role by Sean Drury who will have the role of Deputy Youth Commissioner.

Up for the challenge

Jamie and Sean have been involved in Scouting for many years and currently undertake several Leadership roles between them. They are both passionate about the impact Scouts has on young people's lives and during their appointments they look forward to enabling even more Scouts the opportunity to be heard and, ultimately, to experience Scouting to the fullest.

New Chapter

Sam Trill, District Commissioner said "I am delighted to welcome Jamie and Sean onto the District Leadership Team. With their enthusiasm and energy for Scouting they will bring unique qualities and experience to the Team. I look forward to working with them as we begin this new and exciting chapter in our history."
