April Fool - Rare Breed Partnership
1st April 2015

CW&H District have entered into an exciting new Partnership with the World Rare Breeds Foundation. The Foundation are introducing wallabies into UK woodland where it is hoped they will breed. UK and some other Western European woodlands replicate the wallabies natural habitat and it is hoped through their introduction into these new environments it will both protect and strengthen the species.
We are delighted that they have identified the Blean Forest as one of the best woodland areas available and welcome the opportunity to support and be part of this global project. The Foundation would also like to link the animals introduction to Blean Forest with an education program for young people to understand the benefits wallaby bring to woodland conservation; who better to work with than Scouting.
Ross Wood, being part of Blean Forest has been identified as a unique, special and an ideal location. Wallaby pens have been built and the animals arrived just a few days ago. To book in your Group or Section to visit and see the Wallaby please contact DC Sam Trill.
We will keep you updated with the progress of the Foundations work over the coming weeks.
