St Georges Day Parade 2015
27th April 2015

Sunday 26th April will be a day remembered by many people in Canterbury. For those shopping late on Sunday afternoon and walking through the city center streets they must have pinched themselves to check they really were seeing dragons.
In fact walking with the dragons were hundreds of nights and their chaperons as Canterbury, Whitstable & Herne Bay District Scouts paraded their colourful outfits through the streets. From the Dane John gardens to the cathedral gates the procession certainly cheered up an otherwise grey and gloomy afternoon.
Once in the cathedral everyone was treated to a reenactment by Sturry Cub, Ruben playing St George, slaying the Worthgate Dragon to rescue Alex from Sturry Explorers much to the delight of the 1100 strong audience.
Promises were renewed and awards were presented by Harvey Kennetts representative, Ian Foulsham, Assistant County Commissioner (Explorers).
